The Mount Carroll Township Public Library will be hosting an evening program filled with history and food. Join presenters from the Apple River Fort State Historic Site as they bring the past of life in the most savory ways. Learn how those on the 1830s frontier cooked their meals. Cooking implements such as Dutch ovens and the tin kitchen will be spotlighted during this program.

The Hearth Cooking program will begin at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 15th. This presentation is offered at no cost to the general public, although donations are most welcome.
